Posted Apr 19, 2022

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (April 19, 2022) – MAPCO, the convenience store chain with over 300 stores throughout the Southeastern region of the U.S., has donated $250,000 to Boys & Girls Club chapters throughout Tennessee and Alabama to support education, health, and advocacy for local youth. The charitable giving is part of MAPCO’s Giveback program, made possible through support from MAPCO and its vendors and partners.
MAPCO selected the Boys & Girls Club chapters of Chattanooga, Greater Memphis, Middle Tennessee, and North Alabama as this year’s philanthropic partners due to the nonprofits’ unwavering commitment to helping young people reach their full potential and become productive, caring, and responsible citizens. The donations met a wide variety of local needs and included monetary support, as well as food donations and fuel credits for transportation services.
“At MAPCO, we believe our future lies within our youth, so partnering with the local Boys & Girls Club chapters to support our communities’ brightest rising stars was a simple choice,” said Frederic Chaveyriat, CEO of MAPCO. “The Boys & Girls Club mission aligns perfectly with MAPCO’s ongoing commitment to support youth education and health in the communities we serve. We look forward to continuing our work together to propel our communities forward, while creating long-lasting positive change.”
Each chapter received a $62,500 donation to address a pressing need recognized by the communities they serve. The Chattanooga chapter allocated funds to nutrition education and meal programming, while the Greater Memphis, Middle Tennessee, and North Alabama chapters each allocated funds to educational programming, equipment, and workforce training.
“MAPCO is ingrained in our community and the perfect partner to help the Boys & Girls Club further its mission,” said Eric Higgs, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Middle Tennessee. “Partners like MAPCO allow us to continue the important work of supporting our youth to elevate our communities long-term.”
